Yeah, I looked at those before going with the plate and flywheel from Outfront. For me there were some compelling reasons not to use the bellhousing:

- according to Kennedy, the stock clutch is good for ~200ft/lbs of torque, perfect for a 2.5 Subaru or a Zetec motor

- I would have had to buy a Subaru flywheel and clutch - most donors are automatics

- I would have had to buy a Subaru starter

- I would have ended up with an aftermarket throwout bearing mechanism

- the Small Car bellhousing moves the motor forward 1/4", making the intake setup more difficult

- the Small Car bellhousing necessitates a partial disassembly of the transaxle to install a spacer sleeve on the mainshaft to make the input shaft long enough to reach into the driven plate. I'm not sold on this concept and I'm willing to bet that Go Westy would deny any warranty claim on my really expensive 5 speed transaxle.

The 'gains' from the bellhousing exchange just didn't seem to be there, for all the added expense and work.

IMHO, YMMV, etcetera!

PS The Outfront adapter plate and flywheel were beautifully made and came with all the necessary fasteners, from flywheel bolts to mounting studs. And the engine and transaxle went together very smoothly. =)
