To remove decals a good method us to heat it up with a heat gun or hair dryer. Any remaining adhesive ( if any) can be removed with adhesive remover. There are citrus natural earth friendly kinds thy work great and smell great or goo be gone would work too. But often after heating the decal as you go it just peels right off magically. I usedto work doing vehicle graphics and this is how we worked on decal removal.
