>> I honestly don't understand why anybody would go to the trouble and expense of renewing the rotors and calipers when for not much more money they could bring the van into the late 20th century with VanCafe's Big Brake Kit.

I'd go to Ken Wilford's site and click "buy it now" to his South African big brake kit if that was it but you need the bigger wheels, then the tires to go with those wheels. Etc. I'm looking at probably $2,500 to have those brakes put in. Maybe in a few years but I just got the engine rebuilt and I'm still recovering.

The good news is I decided to go out there yesterday and tackle my own brakes (thanks again list). They have not felt "quite right" for 2 years. The van has been at 3 different shops. What that tells me is they probably ALL took off the left front and rear right when inspecting my brakes. It's a shame I had to go out there and find the right side with one pad that looks brand new and the other with < 3/16"'s of and inch of pad left....

Grrrr

Bryan
