Every VW mechanic it pretty familiar with these from Jettas, Golfs, Rabbits, etc...they are all very similar and many parts interchange. Mine is from a 92 cabriolet and I have put close to 50k miles on it since I got the van with it already installed. 23mpg and comfortable cruising speeds to 70-75, though I try to stay around 65 as an average. How much is a Go Westie WBX motor? Do they give you a 50,000 mile guarantee? A 50-mile guarantee? Gee, if I were looking for dependability and thinking of wide traveling out of my normal city I certainly would think twice about a WBX motor, no matter how 'designer' it's supposed to be. As has been said...they aren't widely understood by your normal mechanic. Don Hanson |
