Just a trivial minutiae question, really: A coworker of mine has a 72 Super Beetle and a 78 Westy which he purchased from a VW dealer new. He says they both came with ignition and doors keyed differently, but the keyways are the same (i.e. ignition and doors COULD be keyed to the same key, but weren't). Anyone know if VW used to do this, and if so, when they stopped.... and if not, where can I get what my coworker is smoking? -- John Bange |
