dear maps ...
tongue in cheek of course :)
last week my wife was loading ice into the ice box in the kitchen ...
it was late and the coal oil lamp was flickering cause i had not gotten
around to trimming the wick yet ..
so ... i decided she should put the block of ice in the Kolher Electric Sink
so as not to cause mud to be created on our freshly swept tamped earth
floor...
when i went to trim the wick i realized i would need to go to the general
store and fetch some new wicks and coal oil... being directionally
challenged i would have to get me wife to draw me a map...
good thing it was a clear night ... north star plainly visible and sirrus
too ...
i walked 7 miles past the old fir tree on the corner ...
(note fir tree was cut down 47 years ago and the government straitened the
corner 4 years ago )
then i walked over the rise and through the glen ...
while at the general store i picked up some mail and messages that had been
left there ...
both my wife and were surprised to see that the government is now charging
something called income tax ...
anyway by the time i got home the ice had melted and was now in a pot on the
gasoline stove to be heated for my cooked rolled oats
OOPS the alarm went off
got out of bed
went to vanagon steering wheel
turned on sirrus satellite radio and my gps ...
planning my day after i read a little oswald chambers on my iphone ...
suns comin up i got cakes on the griddle
:)
laffs all around i hope
yours
