I, too, have the PPG, the blue strip, perfect fit, etc. On mine they used the rubber seal w/ the 'chrome' trim. That replacement chrome must have been as good as the original because within a year it had turned brown. Just this week I had had enough and pulled all those formerly-chrome-now-brown strips out of the window seals all around and my but things look better now. BTW - you may find that your insurance coverage offers 'full glass coverage' for a fairly nominal sum. This is coverage that has zero-deductible on glass replacement regardless of the deductibles on your collision and comp. They sell it cheap as it may keep people from going to those glass replacement shops that waive the deductible, give you 12 steak dinners and then gouge the insurance carrier. FG coverage is pretty common for desert dwellers who have to replace the windshield every couple of years but may make sense for others too. |
