Okay, for those that asked to be informed of what I found out.

And the answer is:
The most common description of this type of connector is an 'SAE Connector'.
At least one source calls them 'flat moulded connectors'. They seem to be in
common use on motorcycles. They are also used for solar panel connections
by some vendors and installers. In fact my first encounter with them was on
a small solar panel. And I've seen one solar install on a Westy that used
the panel mount receptacle on the outside of the van to connect a solar
panel. I've only found three sizes, those made up with 16 or 18 g wire and
those made up with 12 g wire. No one provided (and I didn't find) any kind
of spec sheets for these but they must have some kind of spec and official
nomenclature, it's just out there on some obscure website.

BTW, the only reason I've been interest in these is that these connectors
are easy to connect or unplug but firm enough to virtually eliminate
accidental disconnects. And are not as bulky as the standard cigar lighter
connection. But I still like the Anderson Powerpole devices so it's a toss
up what I'm going to use for some mods I'm planning in Starwagen.
