Maybe I'm missing something (who me? <grin>) but....

Looking at drive train as a unit, can't see how positioning would affect 1/2 gears or other internal part(s). The CV's would likely allow for any minor flaws in angle no?

Ah. Maybe if angles wrong, it would put stress on shift lever of transmission?

I was careful to fabricate/install swap parts "to" existing "original" transmission. But. First time at all that. For drivetrain height, I went by feel seeing where to position drivetrain up/down (shifter provided point of reference). BUT... in hindsight, it could have been me that bent the pin removing air cooled engine. This would have flawed my drivetrain height I bet. As it stands thought, with transmission guide pin now straightened, it looks ~ center to tube at end of shift linkage.

I'll see if loosening motor mounts helps.

Would thicker gear oil be better for (assuming) high mileage transmission?

Using Redline Synthetic currently.
