Hello, listees,

I see here, in Portugal, many Toyota cars and Priuses. Toyota cars do enjoy enjoy the highest reputation. Not on Internet, not in the media here there was not a single bad word about Toyota. In the opinion of informed portugues owners of Toyotas the hysteria, the witch-hunt in USA against Toyota is just the next episode, continuation of shameless history of attempts to destroy the competitor. Nobody ever proved that Audi did really did run-away in the eighties. Independent reputable Swedish test company found nothing wrong with Audi 5000 ( a European car of the year ) against which a rigorous compaign to expose and discredit Audi on the pretext of safeguarding the public welfare was staged. Who was behind? Ford Motor Co. with its "jellybean" Taurus! Sales of Audi fell to the point that Audi was thinking of leaving USA. Audi is probably the most respected name in Portugal! And now we see GM, after it lost its top place to Toyota, is behind the compaign. Americans must remember how Ross Perot left GM in disgust because of the behavior, as he called the board of directors, "the club of millioners". Americans must remember what GM did to DeLorean, the genious, bold man, who said: "I will show GM how to build the real car, not those monstrous behemots". One with no effort will find info on millions of GM vehicles being recalled, but will not find polite Japanese fanning a compaign to discredit GM. What is amazing is how easy the media can make a lot of Americans into credulous fools overnighgt. Only yesterday Toyota was on the top of the list of reliability and satisfaction.

Takes much more than that to offend me, but I will say that less of that will make a better world and not the other way around. Way too much of that flying around these days, along with poor manners (especially table manners,) disrespect for others, disrespect for private property, disrespect for good grammar, etc. Along with that, it's difficult to disrespect the dead, no matter how stupid.....
