What's the wiring look like - what's on what pin on the relay? I ask because I had 2 relays set up for the central locking on the sliding door, and the first time I wired it up per the instructions I had, it was using power all the time to hold the relay open, even though there was no current needed. I ended up basically swapping + for - on everything, and the battery draw disappeared. It sounds like you're doing something similar - that's why the isolator clicks.

My setup is just using the fridge relay - that provides power when the engine's running.
