While I agree that SS + teflon lines are more durable than usual rubber ones, I disagree on impact resistance. Ordinary rubber lines recover from impact even if they were totally collapsed. The teflon line inside the SS braiding is quite fragile if exposed to hitting rocks etc. The reason for that SS around teflon tubing is just that: protecting the teflon tube from physical damage. The teflon tube inside the SS would work just great alone, until it hits something or gets squeezed hard. SS is not there to prevent the teflon tube from expanding due to applied pressure.

Driving offroad my concern would be mostly flexing all the time from extreme position to another and all the branches etch going into wrong places.

My bet would be SS + rubber tube, but I dont know if You can get ones that would be street legal.

One problem with all these SS braidings: You cannot see the condition of the material that holds the actual pressure.
