I'm thinking I might want to go with a bigger brake set-up. I have a late 85 with the cast arms, and know the big brake won't work with the early vans. But, at the junkyard there's an 86 vanagon. Just exactly what would I have to pull from the 86 ?

Bad news is that the caliper was designed for a sub 3000lb van, not  a 4000 lb one...

I honestly don't understand why anybody would go to the trouble and expense of renewing the rotors and calipers when for not much more money they could bring the van into the late 20th century with VanCafe's Big Brake Kit.
