dear busted cv joints
this post reminds me of two things one part van related and one part not
the van related
i used to have a 1969/70 Bay (that was a transition year too ) were any
years not)
anyway
the hard steal axles ate the teeth out of the cast drums ... not once but
twice ...
one time on the left ...
one time on the right ...
both times i thought it was the clutch ...
replaced the drum and problem went away ...
the other is more related to high school days ...
the dodge dart was the car of choice to work on in back yards
used they were very cheap and you could pull the slant 6 out and drop in a
v8
remember the 340 demon engine or the 383 super bee road runner engine
well ...
that was the deal toss in a large v8 and drive around impressing friends ...
girls and law enforcement
but that big powerful v8 would do an interesting thing to the cars which
were not factory hurst shifters ....
BANG goes the universal ...
sometimes at tranny sometimes at the differential
often bending the drive shaft (cue Richard Roundtree music)
so when i got to the line in your note about having Bostig in the hatch ...
my spiddy sense began to tingle ... wondering if you have uncovered the
point of critical mass regarding the power
the same way the racing dodge dart blew a universal
hmmm
yours
