Were you being sarcastic? ATF will definitely degrade hoses and the hatch
gasket, gunk up the hatch insulation and attract dirt like glue. BTDT.
To the OP: Why not just fix the damn leak? You're on the road to a premature
rebuild- BTDT too.

ATF is an excellent rust inhibitor and its good for rubber too. I'd leave
it alone myself.
