I got the 17mm allen socket from BD for 3.50. When I used Royal Purple gear oil, the container comes with the 'pointy" top and was easily emptied w/o spilling a drop from under the van. Downside, I had to buy two bottles since one is not enough to refill. The Right Stuff worked easily, quick, and inexpensively. Benn checking for the last couple of days and not a drop on the driveway.

p.S. When I went to take down the pan on the final drive, the bolts were removed VERY easily and the oil gasket was cork. Would not be a bad idea for folks to get under there and at lest snug up those bolts. Michael in San Antonio 91GL AT 'Gringo' 73 Beetle
