now that you have given me a name, it was the Meyle unit i got from speedway. they did have the internal springs, and a fair price too.

PS previous owner has said (no receipts to prove) that van had rear brake work done in the last few years. but soon after i got the van the right rear cyl was leaking. no prob there, but god almighty, was the drum ever a bear to get off hub. stickiest one I have ever encountered.

Neil,

Chris at Speedway (ex-Bowwow for us local folks) would give me either TRW/Vargas (Brazil) or Meyle (Germany) for $25. I'd have jumped at this, except that a 2hr return trip today just isn't feasible for me. So I'll grab the BeckArnley for today, and drop in ATEs when they arrive. I will try to confirm brand of the old cylinder, which according to my very complete records from the PO, was installed by the dealer in 1993, along with new drums, shoes, bearings, etc. 17 years is not bad for a van that sits in the garage for at least 3 months each year, and has only gone 120k kms in that time!
