Subject: Anyone have a Eurovan Country Homes? Looking to use poptop on T3
              Doka canopy
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hey Folks,

I have a chance to get one of these Eurovan poptops and want some feedback.

Jerry McCavitt is still making the Vanagon version but I have an opportunity to buy one off a Eurovan. The plan is to try to install one of these on a canopy to be used on a Doublecab. The front overhang is kind of a waste of space but IMHO, it looks better when close on the Eurovan. There will be some fabrication needed to make a floor to overhang the Doka cab (too bad it's not going on a Sinka).

Anyway, this is a long distance transaction so I am hoping for some feedback regarding quality of material and worksmanship. I have had Vanagons with CH tops. Frankly, I am not that impressed with the durability of the inner liner. Most of the ones I've seen are cracked underneath. Does anyone here have one which was made for the Eurovan? If so, how well has it survived the constant pushing and pulling to deploy the top? It looks like CH is totally out of the conversion biz. Their old website seems more like a fan site these days. Is anyone making replacement canvas for these things (Eurovan only)?

Thoughts?
