Alan, have another cup of joe and look at my blog, i have an entry showing lock and how it goes together, here is direct link to entry; http://shufti.wordpress.com/2010/03/05/lock-info/ alistair '86 syncro 7 passenger '82 westy, diesel converted to gas in '94 http://www.members.shaw.ca/albell/ http://shufti.wordpress.com On 3-Apr-10, at 7:42 AM, Alan Felder wrote: Alistair and Michael - thanks for the great replies (with pics no less). I should not post when I'm too tired I suppose, because I was not nearly specific enough. The spring I am talking about is the small spring on the end of the lock cylinder, inside the handle. It returns the cylinder to the neutral position and is the last part to come out, first to go back in. I am trying to re-key a spare cylinder to my key set so my sliding door will lock/unlock from the outside. I was sure (at least last night) that somone had provided a link to a diy on the cylinder, including that spring. A picture is stuck in my mind but not well enough to make sure this will work. There are several ways that spring can go in it seems. Sorry for the rambling text, but I shouldn't post so soon after I wake up, either..... :-) -- Alan Felder Austin TX 82 Diesel Westy |
