re "The only time I have broken down out on the road was when I had a TIICO in my van." LOL - I can say the only time I've ever had a major engine blow up in my *entire driving career* ....... which has to be at least 100,000 miles 10 times ........so maybe as much as a million miles............. was with a stock diesel vanagon engine, 1.6 NA. ok.....well, 15,000 miles a year for 47 years is only 705,000 miles... so I'll say 'in half a million miles of driving' a stock 48 hp diesel vanagon engine is the only engine blow up I've ever had - the only rod through the side of the block, ever. And I'm real easy on equipment too. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Stevens" <mtbiker62@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Monday, April 05, 2010 7:44 AM Subject: Re: Mechanics List?
