Just be very careful as you are unplugging the plug on the tank sender. When they fail it is usually because the plastic part that the plug plugs into breaks off of the side of the sender. I have some good used and even a new gas gauge if you find you need one. Also I have new syncro fuel tank senders available as well. One last thought, is your coolant temp reading low as well? It could just be that the voltage regulator for your instrument cluster has gone bad. The test for this is in the Bentley Manual and it is pretty easy, quick test to do. When these fail they will cause both the fuel gauge and the coolant gauge to read wrong. That is the big hint that this is the problem. I have new voltage regulators in stock as well.
