Stay away from the blue shade glass . It makes your van look
like a Toyota or GM product . If you want a tint across the top (shade
) go with a green shade . Part # is a "FW 416 GGN" . The only glass
made for our vans is Chinese made . I run them in my Tristar and it
holds up well and have installed them in quite a few Vanagons in my
local community.
Stay away from Safelite . Find a small local guy who is
competent. Safelite is in bed with all of the Insurance companies and
hogs all of the jobs and handles the incoming calls as well . When you
call your Ins Co ,95 % of them have their claims managed by Safelite.
They will steer you into one of their locations .
Tell them you want to use an independent that is close to
your home. We are all bound by Safelite's pricing and Warranty . If
there is a problem with a job done by an independent and you are not
happy . Safelite will send you to another shop and just back bill the
original shop. I spent Ten years working for those guys and know all
of their tricks.
So if you want your fine European van to look like like the
Ford you parked next ,insist on a Green Over Green glass or just go
with a Tinted glass ,no shade . " FW 416 GTN"
