I never ride in back, and don't care too much about my passengers. :) But, on the occasion that I've been parked and in back with the stereo on, I still like the sound, even though it becomes more bass-heavy. Sticking with the factory locations, I think it's about as good as you're gonna get. I suppose, if I wanted to park/camp for a while and hang out in back, I could adjust the fader/bass to even it out a little. It's just such a large space, with multiple seating positions, including rear-facing jump seats, that I don't know how feasible it is to get good sound everywhere. Sitting on the rear bench, the sound will inevitably be biased toward the rear speakers right behind one's head, which isn't really good. So, short of having a separate switchable set of speakers for the rear, I think components up front are excellent. I'm no audio guru though. James V 86 Syncro Westy, etc. |
