that's the right idea, though I'd use a better synthetic spray lube rather than WD-40.

the good stuff costs up to 10 bucks for a 16 oz spray can. I like to jack up the felt front ... and turn the left front wheel with my foot while I dribble lube down the turning speedo cable. that really gets it in there well. ( assuming 2WD vanagon ) .

My speedometer needle bounces. It seems to smoothe out at higher speeds. I was thinking about spraying some WD40 in the cable or maybe graphite. Any thoughts? Thanks again, Steve
