I am trying to re-key a spare cylinder to my key set so my sliding door will lock/unlock from the outside. I was sure (at least last night) that somone had provided a link to a diy on the cylinder, including that spring. A picture is stuck in my mind but not well enough to make sure this will work. There are several ways that spring can go in it seems. Sorry for the rambling text, but I shouldn't post so soon after I wake up, either..... :-)
