yeah,

i think its a polydimethylsiloxane. but molecular weight unknown, and correct viscosity...

Derek Drew mentions he has a bottle of the right stuff, but was warned against trying a refill by some VC expert. I think that is related on his VC page (linked by neil below)

I don't think that vc refilling will ever become an easy do it yourself project. I just like to de-mystify the subject :)

I am not a chemistry type, but was curious.

From Wiki on Siloxane:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siloxane

Dow Corning on their VC automotive use product:

One example of a polymerized siloxane on Wiki page is polydimethylsiloxane. DC's description of the VC product is "Dimethyl-based viscous coupling fluid". "Silicone Oil" shown here:

http://www.thesage.com/catalog/products/Dimethicone.html

says "polydimethylsiloxane"

Could DC's product be the right stuff for Vanagon VC? If so, group buy?

Here's a Vanagon page by Drew on VC. I'm sure most have seen it, but I hadn't.
