Scott, get a new Marshall two-stage . Those old ones can let loose at any time.I've seen them frost over - I sign of failure. A Westy I sold leaked out a whole tankful in the new owner's driveway and the the fire dept was called. You have to bend or shorten the pipe to make the new Marshall fit. Robert 1982 Westfalia

I'm considering keeping the original rectangular propane regulator for use with the new tank. This way I don't need to trim lines down and it's very easy. Long term goal is to get the original rusty tank sand blasted and fitted with new parts, including the new regulator I already bought, and have 2 tanks on the rig. Any known problems with the original regulator? If the regulator fails, I assume it simply won't "pass gas"? Scott Chapman 85 Westy. |
