Hi all. Just installed a WBX transmission in my '81. My shifter is sluggish or stiff and back up lights now on all the time. (ign. on) Switch tested ok with VOM when tranny on the bench. Tapped on housing containing switch with a hammer. No change. Wiring ok. Found notes on P 35.60a Bentley regarding selector shaft modifications. IF my AB transmission has the older version shaft, is there something this older design that would make the shifter sluggish? Or, is there something inside the cover containing the back up light switch that if broken, would make shifter sluggish?
