This has been discussed several times before on the list. Why would you want the fuel line to run below the firewall where it is more exposed to road hazards than if it is higher? Your way, there is a loop of hose that runs under the firewall, and has to be secured there. Why not just put it through a rubber grommet and be done with worry? The grommet protects it from any exposure to the rim of the hole.
