I just used a length of heater hose (maybe 6 or 8") over the fuel line to protect it there. That might have even fit thru the hole to act as a grommet but I just ran it all under rather than thru. I guess tecnically that bit of metal hanging down could be called a firewall but can scarcely be expected to act as one if the worst happens.

All these approaches (metal fitting, direct line thru the hole, direct line under the hole, are all so superior to the stock set-up that the choice is pretty much a boxers vs briefs decision.
