Miguel,

For the sake of domestic harmony you might try this as an alternative. Since the bass frequencies penetrate well you can fire that woofer at the floor and still get that nice full range that a sub gives. Why not build a small box to mount the woof. It can double as a step up to the top deck.. Just a thought
