Hi Miguel,

I don't have a westy, my Vanagon is a wolfsburg hardtop. I installed a 12" subwoofer in the drivers side rear wall below the window in the area behind the back seat. I removed the side wall paneling and replaced it with a piece of 3/4" plywood which was cut to fit the speaker. The speaker clears the outside sheet metal by something between 1/8" and 1/4".

I really enjoy the increased bass response, except for certain sour notes that get all the plastic panels rattling. Some time this summer I will have to get busy with the peel and seal...

Happy Trails,
