The manufacturers spec of the relay used in the 1314/1315 is 400 amps for up to 1/2 second after the relay closes, also known as inrush current. I have found the relay to be more robust than the spec says but YMMV. Since SurePower says their product supports starting boost I would assume they have determined that the relay can do it.
