As I stated earlier I don't care for the start assist in Vanagons when the front battery boxes are being used. The SurePower 13xx products use heavy duty relays from generic applications and add their own logic board externally to control the relay. You can look up the relay specs as provided by the companies that make or sell just the relay. I have used just that relay part alone for 12+ years when installing aux bat setups on Vanagons. Since SurePower began selling their enhanced version I have mostly switched to using those wired in their simplest configuration. The start assist may help them sell more and in other applications no doubt adds value but the tight battery boxes we have don't have room for the proper size battery cable to properly implement the feature IMHO. I like to bolt the 13xx or just the relay down on the floor of the battery box on the driver side, then add the stock size battery. This keeps exposed battery connections to a minimum. It still must be done carefully and safely and it barely fits.

The product on this sheet is closest to what the 1314/1315 uses. Stancor 120-901. If you click on the datasheet link you can see more specs as well as related products.
