its all in the wrist...

goes like this, you're driving and rain hits windscreen, you pull down on wiper stalk to get intermittent setting, default with 99 is about 10 - 15 sec interval.

if you want shorter, you flip wiper stalk back up to off position, then when rain spots too much for you, stalk is put down on intermittent again. the smart relay has stored that time interval between off then on again and then will repeat that interval for as long as stalk down in intermittent position.
