I've also noticed that my crank pulley seal has started leaking.  Two mechanics in the area have given me two very different prices, ranging from ~$100 to $350.

Can't directly comment, but recently pulled input shaft seal while input shaft still in place. Used one of these:

Had to *tap* long end into seal with hammer, but was careful not to sink point into metal. (this would obviously score metal when pulling seal). With enough purchase into seal, it worked great.

Looking at Bentley, I see what looks like a flat bar braced against the end of crank.

The KD tool wasn't much money. Certainly useful. Maybe useful for pulling crankshaft seal behind pulley?
