Most of us Westy owners probably do, at least on the kitchen side... ;~(

One method of attaching poly inside the doors is to cut 1" wide strips of the aforementioned peel & stick roofing stuff, then stick it on the edge of the door so it's hidden by door panel, and overhangs the opening, so the poly can then be stuck to it (this part is a bit tricky....) You can also just use tape, but be sure it will hold up - the red 'Tuck' tape meant for vapour barrier is a good choice. Most other tapes will break down over time and let go.

On my Jettas at least, any leakage at the bottom of the plastic would enter the car, so I ended up tucking the bottom of the barrier to the inside of the door cavity, rather than taped along the outer side of the inner door as done from the factory. I can't remember how the Vanagon one was done, it's been too long. Jettas get a *lot* of water running down that barrier in heavy rain...
