Hello again Chris,

Glad you made it to the list. I just looked at the pre-filter I have installed in my Carat. I have a 3/8" line (forced) on the tank outlet, then a NAPA 3002 filter which is clear plastic, to a 7mm fuel line. This has kept the junk from my rusty fuel tank at bay for the past 100K miles (with plenty of filter changes).

The pump itself has a screen on the inlet side which collects a lot of the goop in the absence of a fuel filter. I've cleaned that screen with mineral spirits and a small brush.

If there are any other list members in St. Louis they haven't identified themselves yet, better plan a road trip west!

Angus
