Dear Scott,

N-O spells NO. Anything that *should* wait 'til Friday *must* wait 'til Friday. Write it now and post it Friday if you like, then we'll all be happy. Or write Ben and/or me and ask about posting it (I'm likely to be a bit more permissive than Ben is, but not that much more).

What everyone else does is no excuse. As St. Maximus the Confessor said in around ?450? AD, "If the whole *universe* should commune with the Patriarch (of Constantinople) still I will not commune with him, because he has introduced a new teaching." True, he got his hand cut off and his tongue cut out for it, but a hundred years later everyone agreed with him.

I'm smiling but I'm not fooling. Ben and I will start taking a hard line on this if we have to, but we'd much rather not have to.
