I would put the bolts in the floor first, if you are planning to locate the peg feet of the seat in the heads of the bolts. If you don't do this first, you won't be able to get the mounting bar at the right height. You don't have much room for error where the pin lock catches, and about the worst sound a vanagon makes is a rattling jump seat. I don't have my jumpseat carat anymore to check for you, but I don't remember much room between the seat and the slider to begin with. I'd leave it in the stock position.
