Years ago an identification plate was usually a metalic plate with raised letters, numbers. They would last hundred years. The company which produced the car, any piece of machinery, did care for its plate to last. Novadays companies they do not care. Look at my 87 Westy sticker, it is so badly deteriorated that it is unreadable and you get an idea about the quality of what it represents. Its sad and it is a shame. Now lets get to WESTFALIA stickers on the roof. They bubbled, discolored. The former is because oif heat, the latter because the chemists were drinking a lot of coffee and sitting on their hands. For years I was looking foir Westfalia stickers. My roof is gray, the body is Wolfram metalic gray. Does anyone know where I can get WESTFALIA roof stickers? Who sells window rubber chromed plated inserts - strips? Chrome - on - plastic plating. It is gone everywhere, except VANAGON GL sticker on the back door. My Westy has now less than 50k miles , was never driven in winter in USA and was stored in a garage. Was a 1-st place winner in Lorenz, MA, show. Oldtimers must remember that great show organized by Sam Capuso. Ark
