I didn't know about the zip tie trick, so came up with my own:

~ 5/8" wide ring from 3" ABS with a 1/2'" gap. In hindsight, PVC easier to see. Wider possible better. I used this for outboard CV's.

Place ring between bolt heads and largest boot bellow, 1/2" gap at 1st bolt. Tighten bolt a few turns. While pulling driveshaft, turn ring to opposite bolt, turn it a few turns. Not sure if removing ring best, or just shove it to one side for 4 remaining bolts.

** just be sure to REMOVE the ring when done!

Likely I got lucky as I lined up bolts the first time using ring. Not sure if tool of any real use. But if anyone else feels like doing more R&D, enjoy!

Neil.
