Try drumming the door from outside with Your fingers. Put the peel 'n seel into places where You get the strongest sound. Or even better: get someone to do the drumming from the outside while You try out what effect applying slight pressure in different places has.

Dont laugh! We did this last weekend. Whole van. My brother has played drums for some years. Ill send before and after drumming videos later, when I get all the places done.

You need more (soft) mass on the steel to make it vibrate less at audible frequencies. This way You are also reducing a lot more noise than if You just try to silence all the noises on their way.
