1 week from today(Mon 4/26) the Sunshine Treffen crew will be travelling along the North Carolina Outer banks thru Kitty Hawke, Rodanthe and Hatteras enroute to Carolina Beach, NC With a visit at Cape Hatteras light house (the tallest in the nation) http://www.hatteras-nc.com/light/ Then one of 2 ferry crossings before the NC mainland (2nd ferry is 2.5hr crossing, we're planning to picnic lunch while crossing the sound) With a stop at the NC Aquarium on Pine Knoll shores http://www.ncaquariums.com/pine-knoll-shores or a visit to nearby Fort Macon http://www.clis.com/friends/ stopping for dinner @ Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn in Wilmington, NC http://www.flamingamysburritobarn.com/ Or visit the USS North Carolina in Wilmington's harbor http://www.battleshipnc.com/page1.php Before settling in to our camp at Carolina Beach State park http://www.ncparks.gov/Visit/parks/cabe/main.php just up the road from Fort Fisher overlooking the Cape Fear river http://www.nchistoricsites.org/fisher/fisher.htm

Tomorrow (Tues 4/27), Fort Fisher Aquarium http://www.ncaquariums.com/fort-fisher and a ferry across the Fear River and on to South Carolina, destination Edisto Beach State park. Possibly with a stop at the magnificent art gardens & zoological park (not to be missed) at Brookgreen Gardens State park http://www.brookgreen.org/ Thru the beautiful and historic Cities of Charleston South Carolina & Savannah Georgia Charleston Harbor: Fort Sumter (http://www.nps.gov/fosu/index.htm) & the USS Yorktown @ Patriot's Point http://www.patriotspoint.org/
