that's what it looks like to me as well.

Did you check if there is spark ? perhaps it's working just fine, but the firing order is incorrect.

there are two versions of the 2.1 distributor. on one of them the wires for the sender are plainly visible, on the other they are not. This one looks like that kind ..the one where the wires don't really show.
