The best year EuroVans seem to be 2001 - 2003.  They have the fewest
issues.  1997-2000 models seem to have more evap and secondary air
pump problems.  The 01 - 03 models have problems with the fan blades
breaking.  I own a '99, and it's been very reliable.

If he is looking for a full camper with kitchen, then go for the EVC
which was converted by Winnebago on the long wheel base EuroVan.  If
he doesn't need the kitchen, the Weekender model has a poptop, which
is great for standing room.  The standard MV (Multivan) is like the
Weekender, but no poptop.

I've heard you can find a few EuroVans and Vanagons at the bike
races, but Sprinters are becoming the most common van.
