it's like a used transmission . you don't 'really' know the status of it. the only two choices are take it apart for inspection , or put it in the van and try it out. it's not 'too big' a risk... worst that can happen is you spent time installing it to find out it's not that great. One used rack I paid something like $ 125 for ... no apparent leaks, the seller said it was ok.. a year or two later I install it , doesn't leak, but it's a tiny bit stiff on center .....there is a tiny bit of drag in it. Drivable, but when I hop into that van from another power steering car .. I can tell it's not perfect. I don't regret buying it though. Scott www.turbovans.com my goodness is it mild for a Fridae ! Just wondering, if you came across a dry rack with no evidence of leakage would it be worthwhile or a waste of time and asking for problems. Mine leaks bad and I'm not really thrilled with putting a lot more money in it this year but the steering is a bitch right now!
