Returned from our 2300 mile trip to Florida and back with our 4 year old. No real problems other than the fuel leak I posted about earlier although I'll be shopping for a steering rack as well. Some observations:
17-18 mpg with a manual Westy (2.1), loaded up pretty good, avg 65 mph (fair, average, or exceptional?)
Used about 1 quart of oil (average?)
Weird observation; Tried to get in line with the big trucks on I-95, one in particular was rolling at the speed I wanted. I noticed while following this truck for awhile my temp gauge began to climb although my speed was actually slower than what I had been driving. Was I fighting turbulence or is there something to do with low pressure pockets not cooling as well as high pressure air? I was able to reproduce this over and over.
My daughter did great on the trip, using DVD somedays and etch and sketch on others, we tried to drive less than 5 hours a day, with several days off. _________________________________________________________________ The New Busy is not the old busy.
