Subject: exhaust system options for 2.1 '91 vanagon.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed

Hey Guys & Gals,

I know there are stainless steel exhaust systems available but am wondering if anyone has tried Ceramic coated headers instead of a stainless set. One VW-mechanic has told me that there is a power gain (10% was quoted) by using ceramic headers!

I would like to take advantage of this if it's genuine then replace the rest of the exhaust system with stainless. Otherwise, of course I would just buy a complete stainless system.

Also I am aware of Frank C's stainless system as well as Terry K's stainless muffler(s) for sale. I haven't, however come across any other stainless systems on the web. Anyone have more sources or comments on the quality of the type of stainless steel to look for. ...Or "Turbo type free flowing" mufflers?

Thanks for any thoughts on this subject.
