The same pump (with very minor variations) is used on fuel injected Beetles, Buses, Vanagons, and various 1980's era Jaguars, Alfa Romeos, and BMW's. However it is typically much cheaper when sold as a VW fuel pump than when sold as a Jaguar or BMW fuel pump. :-) Some European market German made Fords also used the same pump, but U.S. market Fords used a different version that as I recall has the wrong inlet size.
